Veteran Horse Society Showing Series 2017 – Area Qualifier

First round qualifier for the Veteran Horse Society Supreme Final:

VETERAN HORSE OF THE YEAR 2017    Kindly Sponsored by Allen & Page.

Open to members and non-members. All competitors and grooms must adhere to VHS Rules in all circumstances. Failure to do so may result in immediate disqualification.

VHS Regional Final qualification. All competitors placed 1st to 4th in each age category will qualify for the corresponding class at VHS Regional Finals. Members must have their showing card signed by the judge in the ring as proof of qualification. Non-members will receive a red qualification card which can be exchanged for signed showing card when applying for VHS membership. Regional Finals are open to members only. All competitors are eligible to enter open classes at the National Veteran Open Championships, 29th September – 1 st October 2017. No qualification or membership necessary. CLASS 2 - VETERAN IN-HAND, COMBINED AGE CLASS (15 years and over).

To be run as one class but judged as separate age categories: Diamond Veteran (25 years and over), Veteran (20–24 years) & Pre-Veteran (15–19 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.

CLASS 5 - VETERAN RIDDEN, COMBINED AGE CLASS (15 years and over). To be run as one class but judged as separate age categories: Diamond Veteran (25 years and over), Veteran (20–24 years) & Pre-Veteran (15–19 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.

CLASS 9 - RETIRED RACEHORSE RIDDEN (12 years and over). Open to horses that have raced and are registered with Wetherbys. Incorporates qualification for the VHS Regional Finals – Foundation classes.

CLASS 12 &13 - MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND RIDDEN (15 years and over). Open to large and small breeds. Incorporates qualification for the VHS Regional Finals - Foundation classes.

CLASS 14 - MOUNTAIN & MOORLAND IN-HAND (15 years and over). Open to large and small breeds. Incorporates qualification for the VHS Regional Finals - Foundation classes.

 

 

RoR Jockey Club Novice Show Series Qualifier 2017

 

The RoR Jockey Club Novice Ridden Show Horse Class

Thoroughbred mare or gelding, 4 years old or over, any height.  Rider must be 15 years or over on 1st January. To take part in this class, horses must NOT have won an open class (inc SEIB/HOYS, RoR Tattersalls Show Series Qualifier, TARRA Ridden, RoR AMATEUR Ridden Show Series Qualifier or any other open class except RoR TBA Challenge Show Series classes.

 

Horses will be de-noviced after 3 novice wins or any open win, but is still eligible to compete at the RoR National Show that August.

 

Horses should be ridden in a snaffle, pelham or simple double bridle.   Horses should be plaited. 

 

The first three go forward to the championship at the RoR National Show at Aintree in August 2017 or 2018 for shows after 1st August 2017 to the 31st July 2018.  

 

All entries MUST be registered with the RoR and have RACED in GB.    The class will be run under the rules of RoR. 

 

HORSES WILL NOT BE RIDDEN BY THE JUDGE; each horse to complete an individual show or no longer than 1 ½ minutes to include the following movements: Walk, Trot, Canter showing change of leg, extended canter, halt and stand, walk off on long rein. Horses will be stripped for conformation. All those entering horses and/or participating in the show agree to be bound by the Retraining of Racehorses Rules and Regulations from time to time in force. Please be aware that the show will split the class on the horse’s last run in a race (NH or Flat) should the entries exceed 20. Please mark your entry form accordingly.  

Competitors must wear a safety/kite mark hard hat with a chinstrap.

Racing injuries and blemishes are NOT ignored in this series.

Prizes - Rosette 1st -6th and Vouchers 1-4th : 1st £50 plus voucher for jacket, 2nd 25, 3rd £20, 4th £10.

 

TGCA TOYS In Hand and Ridden Classes Affiliation No TGCA/07/17/099

 

These classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association's (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show "TOYS".  Classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs. Top three in each class qualify.  In open height classes, top three in small and large sections qualify.   All stallions (four years and over) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class MUST have their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle.  Existing TGCA members must present their qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non members will receive a qualification card from the judge and will have 21 days to join the TGCA and to register their horse to validate the qualification.

Class 3:       In Hand Piebald/Skewbald Horse/Pony ANY TYPE, stallion, mare, gelding, colt or filly, any height, any age. N.C.P.A Qualifier.

RIDDEN CLASSES

Horse Ring – Commencing at approximately 10:30am

Class 4:       Open ridden mixed height hunter horse or pony, any age. N.C.P.A Qualifier.

Class 5:       Veteran Ridden, Combined Age Class (15 years and over). To be run as one class but judged as separate age categories: Diamond Veteran (25 years and over), Veteran (20–24 years) & Pre-Veteran (15–19 years). Open to horses and ponies of any breed and height.

Class 6:       Open ridden Piebald/Skewbald Horse/Pony ANY TYPE stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age.   N.C.P.A Qualifier.

Class 7:       Ridden Competition Horse or Pony stallion, mare or gelding, 4 years old and over. Rider any age. N.C.P.A Qualifier.

Class 8:       Open Lead Rein Pony, Mare or Gelding, 4 years old & over not exceeding 122cm. To be led by an attendant and shown in a snaffle bridle. Lead rein to be attached to the noseband only; Rider not to have attained their 8th birthday before 1st January in the current year.  N.C.P.A Qualifier

Class 12:    Ridden Small Breeds Mountain & Moorland, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over. Registered with their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh Section A or B. Rider any age.

Class 13:    Ridden Large Breeds Mountain & Moorland, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over. Registered with their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books of Connemara, Dales, Fell, Highland, New Forest, Welsh Section C or D. Rider any age

Class 14:     In Hand Mixed Breeds Mountain & Moorland, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, any age. Registered with their approved Pure Breed Society Stud Books

M&M CHAMPIONSHIP   1st and 2nd prize winners of classes 12 to 14

UNAFFILIATED CLASSES

Main Showground Ring - Starting at 9:00am.

Judge:  Mrs Sara Dace-Hughes

Open to all horses & ponies & riders of all ages. Horses and ponies will not be judged on conformation.

Classes are open to plaited and unplaited Horses/Ponies

Stallions to be kept under control at ALL times and not to be led or ridden by children under 16 years.

Class 15:    Tack and Turnout open to horses/ponies, riders any age.

Class 16:    Equitation class. Judged on style, control and effectiveness in all three paces.

Class 17:    ‘Rescued and Rehomed - This class is open to any rescued horse, pony, donkey or mule.  In hand or ridden

Class 18:    Horse or Pony the judge would most like to take home.
